The ore mines in Monteneve are the highest ore mines in Europe and the longest yielding in the Alps. Silver, lead and zinc have been mined here for about 800 years. Both the aboveground and underground mining tools from the Ridanna Valley and Val Passiria have been preserved in their original condition and can be viewed in a spectacular museum exhibition.
